Community Outreach Programme

Community Outreach Programme

MedAid Services is dedicated to being actively involved in community outreach and education. To further enhance this, we have set up a dedicated charity called the MedAid Services Community Initiative.

The Community Initiative has been established to act as a health promotion charity with the mission to

  • provide free education and basic first aid training to local communities,
  • commission new community public access defibrillators; amd
  • provide support to local groups wanting to fundraise for their own defibrillator.

Free Basic First Aid Training for Residents

Delivering Free First Aid Training

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR),  Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and Emergency Life Support classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable MedAid Services medics.

Residents and those from surrounding communities can take advantage of these classes, and at the end of the course will be certified in one of the following:

  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Emergency Life Support including bleeding, heart attacks, choking and shock
  • or All of the above!

With the skills learned in our classes, citizens will be able to recognise when someone is in cardiac distress, enabling them to intervene by administering CPR and/or using an AED while an Ambulance is on route.  Studies have shown that early intervention by citizens trained in both CPR and AED techniques greatly increases the chances of survival for a victim of a heart attack, drowning, or other traumatic injury.

Regular classes are held throughout Shropshire and there is no cost to attend. Class size is limited and registration is required.  Special classes for groups of 10 or more can also be arranged.

All training courses provided through the Community Initiative are free and all other services receive a generous discount. If you would like to make a donation to help us to continue to provide these services, please contact us.
